I have been a full-time mobile DJ using a traditional sound system with loudspeakers for receptions all of my adult life. I have thousands of satisfied clients.

Why would I start offering Silent Disco Headphones?
What is wrong with the old way?

There are two big problems with the old way of having just loudspeakers at wedding receptions:

1) Half the guests think the music is too soft and the other half think it is too loud.
2) Everybody wants to hear different music. There is not enough time to play all of the requests.

Silent Disco headphones solve the first problem by giving each wearer their own volume control.

They solve the second problem by allowing the transmission of three different channels of music to the headphones, thereby giving dancers three times as many songs to choose from.

If you don’t solve the problems, some people will go home early or leave the dance-floor.

Everyone wants people to stay longer, dance more and have more fun! The Silent Disco headphones are a fantastic solution.

It all started when I read an article in Martha Stewart’s Wedding Magazine. The article gives a strong endorsement to Silent Disco weddings and also suggests that you’ve got to see it to believe it. This is because it is not a small incremental change.

It is a completely new way to deliver dance music and gives a wedding reception quite a different feel.

Silent Disco is also listed by Wedding Wire as among the hottest reception trends for 2017.

What would a Silent Disco wedding reception look like?

One way is to have no sound system at all. The music and announcements would only run through the headphones. This would be awkward if dinner is served. Most guests want to freely converse during that time and the headphones would just be in the way.

A Silent Disco wedding reception works better if there is a traditional sound system for the cocktail and dinner music as well as for the introductions, announcements, and special dances. Then the headphones come out for the dance music and would be worn by the dancers.

The sound system continues to play soft music throughout the reception while the guests use the headphones when they want to dance.

The headphones have three different channels which allow three different dance songs to play simultaneously. Your DJ(s) or playlist(s) would be transmitting the music to the headphones.

1) You could have three live DJ’s, each transmitting on their own channel.
2) You could have just one live DJ working all three channels.
3) You could skip the live DJ entirely by having three devices transmitting a different playlist to each channel.

Since there would be quiet music still playing over the sound system, the guests who only want to talk would stay longer and have more fun.

Since the dancers would be able to turn it up as loud as they want, they would have more fun and stay longer.

Also, the dancers would have three times as many music options to choose from, so they are going to like the music better. Again, that means they will have more fun and stay longer.

Headphones have independent volume controls, three channels & change color to show which one you are listening to.

Silent Disco allows your reception to go later than allowed by noise ordinances:
Especially if your reception is outdoors or in a location requiring the loud music to shut down at a certain time; Now the party can keep going as late as you want it to. Outdoor receptions, barn receptions, and even hotels that rent rooms within earshot of the banquet hall benefit from Silent Disco.
